So I don't get it....


Miley Cyrus claimed that she helped write all the songs for her new album Breakout... ironically enough, Miley's most popular song off that album was stolen from no other than Katy Perry. Ummmm Miss Cyrus? I that why you keep bitching and moaning that Katy Perry is jealous of you... when you stole her song without the proper credit?? WTF?!?!? Katy Perry said that Miley also recorded ANOTHER one of Katy's songs (which she didn't say the name of). Wow. way to be original Miley.
And then I was just dabbling with iTunes and I realized that 2 other of "Miley's songs" were taken from Cheyenne Kimball (Full Circle and These Four Walls, which Miley cleverly [not really] changed from Four Walls). I'm not a hater on Miley, but if she's claiming that she helped write her whole entire album, please be more honest.... if you use someone else's work, then credit them!
So far we found out that 4 out of the 12 songs off her new album were taken from other [more] talented artists. I'm sure there are more, but those are the four that I know of.... so pretty much Miley only put in 75% (or less) effort into the lyric writing part of her album.... wonderful

Twilight: The Movie

I am crazy excited for the movie. mtv.com has a ton of vids on the production!

I'm a little surprised about the casting... when i read the book i pictured completely different people.  but everyone does that right?  but i'm still happy with the producer's choices... comes out december 12.  i can't wait that long. they better hurry up.

Congrats to Joel and Nicole

Congrats to the two of them... Tonight (in LA of course), they welcomed their first baby together: a girl named Harlow... another name to add to the list of odd celebrity baby names.... I believe it's on the list right in between Suri and Apple. Haha. But in all seriousness, congrats!!! May your baby girl be healthy and happy all the days of her life. Now come on, you KNOW you want to sell your pictures to OK or Star magazine... We wanna see your little bundle of JOY!!

The War on Christmas

Last night I was watching Overboard with Goldie Hawn (Kate Hudson's mom) and an advertisement played saying how there are these pins from "The Catholic Daughters" that say, "It's okay to say Merry Christmas to me."
My initial reaction to this: "Why the hell would you put a pin on saying that?? How anti-semitic!!"
But now, as I sit and actually think about it... these are my thoughts:
    To me, "Merry Christmas" is just an expression I use. Sometimes I use "Happy Holidays" or even "Merry Whatever." No matter what religion you are (or aren't), the reason for the season is to be with your family and friends, practicing the art of giving and recieving. I do not need a pin saying "It's okay to say Merry Christmas to me," if I wasn't Catholic (not saying that I am or am not), I would be offended seeing that. But I wouldn't be offended if someone told me "Merry Christmas," because to some people (like me) it's just an expression.

Okay, so I have a total guilty pleasure for Simple Plan!! I am sooo excited they came out with new stuff!! Their last album hit stores in 2004 and we'll finally be able to see new stuff!! And Pierre looks totally hot and edgy now. woooot!!

I really feel for Jamie Lynn Spears


Pregnant at sixteen? Wow. She's younger than I am, yet she is taking on the responsibility of being a mother-to-be. That's a very big responsibility to take on. My thoughts and prayers go to her and her family and I hope she finds happiness in this experience. Hopefully, she'll be a role model to her older sister and hopefully she'll be a mother who will give complete love and nurishment to her child.

 

I also heard that Lily Allen is preggers too. Many happiness to her as well!!


I hope she can kick her smoking habit before the habit kicks her. =/

Very Important Note

Dear Buzznet Members,

   Hi!! I just wanted to say something that is troubling my heart.  I write these lists solely for my enjoyment.  I do not plan on them to be featured.  I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I love you for that!! Standing up for what you believe is the most important thing ever (even more important than music... and music is very important to me!!).  But slandering someone for saying what they feel is not right.  And I'm not just talking about bad talking me (I find it very helpful to enhancing my articles for good).  I'm talking about each other.  I get a really bad feeling in my gut when I see that.  It hurts me how easily someone can say something so hurtful to each other.  Would you say that rude comment if you were looking them in the eye?  Would you say that to a complete stranger?  How about your friends?  family? Teachers? Coaches?  Children? 

   Please, for the sake of everyone's sanity and security, please refrain from saying awful things to each other, especially on my posts.  If I see something offensive, I'm deleting your comment.  I'm sorry, I know it's mean, but I need to stop you from hurting others and even yourselves. 

 

   And one last note.  Please remember that when I write my journals... that's my opinion, not necessarily yours.  I'm not making up your opinion for you.  If you agree with me... GREAT!!  If you don't agree with me... THAT'S JUST FINE!!! This world was meant to have different opinions.  But when I write... please don't assume that I'm talking for the behalf of the Buzznet community, I'm only stating my own opinion!!

Artists who will rule the world in 2008

As the closing of 2007 comes closer and closer, I've thought a lot about the different upcoming bands of 2007 and realized that they are the future for the music of 2008. Amazing, yes. Exciting, absolutely.


10) Boys Like Girls
Although MTV made them more noticed, it will take a few months for a fans to realize that BLG are here to stay. And who can't love them? They are amazing artists with big hearts. And boy do they have a lot to give!!


9) Colbie Caillat
Her hit Bubbly has made Colbie very popular, but there is a lot more to expect from this SoCal beach girl!


8) The Audition
I've liked this band for a lonnnng time, but it's about time that everyone else starts liking them too!! They're amazing performers and so funny!!


7) Permanent Me
I've seen they're video for Allison on Fuse and I think that a lot of people will like them. Plus, they are all such nice, respectable boys!!


6) Paramore
Paramore only started to get popular towards the end of this year and they have a lot more to show us!! Next year will be their year!!!


5) Metro Station
Come onnnn!! We need some good dance music out there!! Let's go!!


4) The Maine
These fun-loving guys are soooo gonna rule the charts!! I love their version of Akon's "I Wanna Love You". They NEED to get big. Please!! Their brand new EP just came out!  It's simply amazing... you can download it on Itunes or order it on Smartpunk orrr if you live in Arizona... you could buy it at select stores!



3) Cute Is What We Aim For
They're soooo close to getting huge!! They need one final push until they're gonna climb up the stairway of huge, major success!!


2) This Providence
It's about time these guys get their fame on!! Come on!! They're music is so amazing and these boys make everyone smile!!


1) Cobra Starship
Year of the Cobra!! Okay, Imagine if everyone had a little Cobra in their life... The world would be a better place. Just like those amazing sugar cookies with the pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles from Ralphs. Cobra Starship will be the pink sprinkled sugar cookies of 2008!!

Rap songs that rock bands should cover

So, I'm not the biggest fan of rap, unless I'm partying it up... But I'm sure if one of my favorite bands were to cover a rap song, I'm sure I'd like the song a lot more! With that being said, here is my list of bands and the rap songs they should cover.

10) Hot in Herre (Nelly) - Zebrahead
Haha! Zebrahead would make this song so original and hilarious... I would love to hear them play it!! It's gettin' hot in herre... So take off all your clothes!


9) Bed (J Holiday) - Fall Out Boy
Okay, so it might actually sound better than you think... just think of Patrick's vocals in this song. He has the capability of singing more soulful songs, I really wish he'd go solo for like a milli-second and record a jazz album. Seriously. He has the voice to do it, so why not?


8) Snap Your Fingers ( Lil' Jon) - Boys Like Girls
Martin and the gang are such fun-loving guys that they could totally pull this off!


7) Party Like a Rockstar (Shop Boyz) - Buckcherry
I know it would be repetitive if a rockstar was to sing about partying like a rockstar, but the song is a lot of fun and I think that Buckcherry could pull it off. (p.s. I know there are a lot of people who don't like Buckcherry, but I think they're awesome. =])


6) Ayo Technology (50 Cent) - Escape The Fate
Okay, so I have to admit, I chose Escape the Fate because I think that Ronnie is a genious and anything that comes out of his mouth would sound amazing.


5) Stronger (Kanye West) - The Audition
I know no one can put as much energy into Kanye's music as much as Kanye can, but I would enjoy seeing the boys of The Audition performing this live. It would be a lot of fun!


4) Dirt Off Your Shoulder (Jay-Z) - Metro Station
Okay, so Metro Station already rocks like no other, but it would be a fun little project for them to play Jay-Z's hit. Don't you think so?


3) This Is Why I'm Hott (MIMS) - New Found Glory
The boys of NFG are so chill and awesome, they would totally tell everyone why they're hott!


2) Yellow Bus (Traxamillion) - Cute Is What We Aim For
Just for the record, this is my best friend and my favorite party song. We blast it whenever we go for drives. We even have a dance for it. I give CIWWAF the honor of covering this song.


1) Soulja Boy (Soulja Boy) - Cobra Starship
Mmmm Gabe would make this song so much better! And I think he could totally master that dance. (Too bad I can't!)

Dean Martin is a musical genious and the song is comical and romantic!
3) Bianca Ryan - Why Couldn't it Be Christmas Everday?
Okay, so I know this song can be a little too perky at some times, but it amazes me that this little pre-teen can belt out notes that most kids her age can.
2) Josh Groban - Believe
Reading The Polar Express on Christmas Eve has been a tradition for my family for a long time and when the movie came out, we changed from reading to watching the movie. Josh Groban's song made the movie so warm and amazing!
1) Wham! - Last Christmas
Laaaast Christmas, I gave you my heart, the very next day you gave it away..... Gahhh! I love this song. I loved it when Jimmy Eat World covered it... but nothing can beat the original!

According to The 411 our little friend Spencer Pratt wants to run for the Governor of California. He's even taking Poly Sci classes. Uhh Spencer, buddy, spreading rumors and alienating people does not make you eligable to run California. Anyway, if Pratt wants to be governor, he's gonna have to get past The Terminator first. My 8 Favorite Christmas Movies

Christmas is coming up in 24 days, so I plan on watching a ton of Christmas movies to get me in the spirit.  This is a list of my top 8 favorite ones!!

8)The Santa Clause
Tim Allen is such a funny actor and the movie has such a great storyline. Especially the elves who break Santa out of prison. Genious!!


7)The Holiday
Okay, you HAVE to admit. Watching an hour and 30 minutes of Jude Law is def. a good thing. Plus, I love Kate Winslet's character... she's so awkwardly funny!!!


6)Just Friends
Oh My Goodness!! Ryan Renolds and Amy Smart have such chemistry... Shakes come and go, but friends are fuuuuur-ever!!


5) How the Grinch Stole Christmas
I dunno if it's the fact that Jim Carey dresses up as a furry green monster, or the Woo's button noses, but this movie is such a timeless tale with big hearts and bigger laughs.


4) I'll Be Home For Christmas
Pooooor JTT having to get home for Christmas to decide between scoring a vacation with Jessica Biel or zooming away in a hot new car. Too bad his jerk friend left him abandoned in a desert, wearing a Santa costume.


3) Snow Day
I always wanted to have a snow day, but in LA all we get are power outtage days.


2) Mean Girls
I know, I know, Mean Girls is not a Christmas movie, but there are Christmas scenes in them!! I love the part where Santa is passing out candy canes and he passes it to Glen Coco You Go Glen Coco!


1) Elf
Okay, so here's the deal, I can't stand the wayWill Ferrell acts, but the scene where he gets attacked by a raccoon is so funny!! And when he sends his dad the Naughty Santa's Helper Outfit, I nearly ROFLed.

Ten things I love about winter

Since it's official okay to talk about the Winter Holidays... I wanted to make a list of the top ten things that make winter amazing!

10) Gingerbread Men! (and women and children and animals...)

It's not so much the taste that makes them so enjoyable for me, but it's actually making them. I am a big kid at heart and love to use the cookie cutters and sprinkles and frosting to make the Gingerbread People freakin' awesome! And it's always funny to bite off their heads! (sorry... but it's true!) I also love the smell that they make when you stick them in the oven!!

9) Buying Presents for Friends

As nice as it is to recieve gifts, it feels better to give gifts!! The magic of gift-giving makes the holiday so much more gratifying! I love to see the look on my friend's faces when they open up a gift I had given them. It makes me feel good to see them happy. =]

8) Wearing Uggs

I love wearing Uggs, but living in SoCal, it is too hot in the summer to wear them. It's a special treat for my feet and I love to pair them with leggings and a dress or jeans and sweater. =]

7) Snowboarding!

Okay, so everyone pretty much knows that it doesn't snow in LA. It may frost occassionally on our windshields, but there isn't legitimate snow! But the beauty about living in LA is that Big Bear is about an hour away! Snowboarding galore! Although I haven't ventured farther off the Bunny Trail, it still is exhilirating and enjoyable. And it's funny when people who aren't paying attention get sprayed by someone elses snow wave. (Yes I said snow wave)

6) Watching Christmas Movies!

Nothing is better than snuggling up to the fireplace, with a cup of cider in your hands, watching a Christmas movie. Name any Christmas movie, I've probably seen it. My favorites are The Santa Clause and The Holiday!

5) The Polar Bears in the Coca Cola Commercials

Who could resist those cute little fellas getting into trouble all the time??

4) Scarves

In LA, it's pretty much a rule that if you wear scarves anytime other than winter, you'll get laughed at. Seriously. And being an advid lover of scarves, I always get excited to wear them!

3) Those Fleece Blankets from Savon that are like $10

I love those blankets! I have a closet full of them and every winter, I pull 'em out and get so toasty and warm!!

2) Hot White Chocolate

Starbucks make it best!

1) Dick Clarks Rockin' New Years Eve
